Seven times now, we have watched a client pay us to build something that should already have existed. Eventually that stops being a coincidence and starts being a business.
An agency is a good way to learn and a hard way to build anything that lasts. The work is real, but it leaves with the client. In 2023 we started keeping some of it, first Grigora, then Poper, then the rest, and found that a product you own behaves nothing like a project you deliver. It gets better every year instead of ending.
So we stopped. Latracal no longer takes client work. What we have instead is seven products, a small team, and customers in more than 160 countries who mostly have no idea there is a company called Latracal behind the thing they use. That is fine. The products are the point; the company is what keeps them alive.
We are based in Bengaluru. We are not planning to be acquired, and we are not building towards a moment when this all pays off. This is the thing itself.
Latracal was founded by Karan Bhakuni, who still writes code here. If you want the longer version of how any of this happened, his site is the place to ask.
