Privacy policy.

What we collect, why we collect it, what we never do with it, and how to make us stop. Written for the law we actually operate under.

This policy explains how Latracal Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India with its office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, handles personal data collected through latracal.com.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for that data, and you are the Data Principal. We also follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Each of our products publishes its own policy covering the data processed inside that product. This one covers this website only.

What we collect

Only what you give us and what the site needs to work:

  • What you send us. Your name, email address and whatever you write, when you email us or apply for a role.
  • Technical data. Your IP address, browser, device type and referring page, logged by our hosting provider so the site can be served and kept secure.
  • Usage data. Which pages are opened and for how long, in aggregate. We do not build a profile of you from it.

We do not ask for financial information, government identifiers, health data or any other sensitive personal data on this website. Please do not send it to us.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Under the DPDP Act we process personal data on one of two grounds. The first is your consent, given freely and for a specific purpose, such as when you email us or ask to hear about a product. The second is legitimate use, which covers data you voluntarily provide for a purpose you clearly intended, such as sending us a job application.

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing it is as easy as giving it: one email to contact@latracal.com.

What we do with it

  • Reply to you.
  • Consider your application, if you applied for a role.
  • Keep the records a company is required to keep.
  • Understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
  • Send you occasional email about our products, but only if you asked for it, and only until you tell us to stop.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Cookies

This site uses only what it needs to function and to count page views in aggregate. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies here. Every browser lets you refuse cookies, and refusing them will not stop this site from working.

Who else sees it

We share personal data only with processors who help us run the business, such as our hosting and email providers, and only to the extent they need it. They are bound to protect it and may not use it for their own purposes.

We will disclose data where Indian law requires it, for example on a lawful order from a court or authority. We will not hand it over otherwise.

Because our providers operate globally, your data may be processed on servers outside India. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to see it is protected to the standard described here.

How long we keep it

Only as long as the purpose lasts, or as long as the law requires. Job applications are kept for up to twelve months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. General correspondence is deleted when it is no longer useful. When a purpose is served and no law requires us to keep the data, we erase it.

Security

We use reasonable security practices appropriate to the data we hold, including encryption in transit, access limited to people who need it, and providers who maintain recognised security standards. No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

Your rights

The DPDP Act gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal data of yours we hold and what we have done with it.
  • Correct anything inaccurate, complete anything incomplete, and update anything out of date.
  • Erase your data, where no law requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
  • Complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we have not resolved it.

Write to contact@latracal.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no fee.

Please make requests in good faith. The DPDP Act expects Data Principals not to file false or frivolous complaints.

Children

This website is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not carry out tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
